Hello fellow wanderphiles! I’m Shanti, a self-confessed travel addict and avid wanderer from Auckland, New Zealand.
I love exploring and experiencing new things whether it be Pomme Frittes with mayo in Belgium or a sunrise at the top of an active volcano. I hate routine and will purposely walk a different way to work each day just so I don’t see the same things repeatedly.
I’ve lived in Australia for the last 8 years and have spent multiple months either working or travelling in Thailand, Spain and Manila. Plus, visits to another 35 or so countries across Asia, Europe and The Americas.
After a seven month Asia and Europe trip last year I’ve finally returned to NZ and am currently working full time (in Finance) and travelling/walking part time. I’ve managed to see a fair bit of NZ since I’ve been back and have a few more awesome adventures planned both here and overseas soon. I hope you can come with me by following my blog and social media!
About ‘a wanderphile’…
This is a travel blog with an emphasis on walking adventures.
‘A wanderphile’ aims to inspire you to travel and show you how to wander further, longer, better and cheaper. I truly believe that as Mark Twain said “travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry and narrow-mindedness”. We can all benefit from including travel in our own lives whether it be a long journey or a short week crammed into your annual leave. Travel enables us to learn and experience other places and cultures and points of view and day to day lives that differ from our own. I hope you enjoy travelling the world with me!
Be amazed. Be curious.
