Burano, Italy is a delightful, little island nestled in the north of the Venetian Lagoon. Or to be more accurate it is four teeny islands joined together by several foot bridges. The island has long been renowned for it’s detailed lace work and rainbow hued houses.
It is the perfect side trip to get away from the
madness bustle of Venice as it is only a 40-minute trip on a vaporetti (Venetian ferry). Yet, it has bundles of charm and far fewer crowds.
